How to Multistream to Multiple Platforms
Stream to YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and X all at once. No browser plugins, no extra software. Just connect your encoder to Streamhand, add your destinations, and go live. This guide walks you through the setup from start to finish.
Sign up and log in
Create an account at thestreamhand.com/register. Enter your name, email, and a password, then verify your email address. Once verified, sign in from the login page.
Create an ingest
In the dashboard, click Add in the Ingests section (or click the + Add Ingest card if you have no ingests yet).
Enter a name for your ingest (e.g. "Main Camera") and click Create Ingest.
Expand the new card to reveal your streaming credentials:
- RTMP URL and Stream Key
- SRT URL (includes the stream key inline)
Connect your encoder
Open OBS Studio (or any RTMP/SRT encoder) and configure a new streaming output:
- Go to Settings > Stream.
- Set Service to Custom.
- Paste your RTMP URL into the Server field.
- Paste your Stream Key into the Stream Key field.
- Click OK, then click Start Streaming in OBS.
Back in the Streamhand dashboard, the ingest card should show Connected within a few seconds.
Set as Source
Click Set as Source on your connected ingest card. A blue Source badge appears, indicating this ingest will be used when you go live.
Add a destination
Click Add in the Destinations section (or click + Add Destination).
Fill in the destination details:
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Name | YouTube Main |
| Platform | YouTube |
| Destination URL | rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2 |
| Stream Key | Your platform stream key |
Leave "Enable immediately for streaming" checked and click Create Destination.
Go live
The control bar at the top of the dashboard should now show Ready with a green indicator. Click GO LIVE.
The bar switches to show a live timer and "Streaming to X destination(s)". Your destination cards display a red LIVE badge.
Stop streaming
When you are done, click END in the control bar. The stream stops, destination cards return to their Enabled state, and the bar shows Ready again.
Frequently asked questions
How many platforms can I stream to at once?
Up to 6 destinations simultaneously (YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, or any custom RTMP endpoint).
Do I need OBS to multistream?
No. You can use any RTMP or SRT encoder. OBS is the most popular choice, but Streamhand works with any encoder that supports RTMP or SRT output.
