How to Live Stream from Meta Glasses to Twitch, YouTube and More

Before you start
- Meta glasses connected to your iPhone

Steps to go live on Twitch or any platform
Turn on Developer Mode
Open the Meta AI app. Tap the menu button, then tap Settings. Tap App Info. Tap the app version 10 times quickly. When the app asks, turn on Developer Mode.
Install the Streamhand app
The Streamhand app is on TestFlight because Meta hasn't opened App Store publishing for apps that use its glasses camera. Open the Streamhand TestFlight link and install the app. Allow the camera, microphone, and glasses permissions.
Connect your glasses
Wear your glasses and make sure they are connected to your iPhone. In the Streamhand app, follow the glasses setup. When the Meta AI app opens, allow Streamhand to use the glasses.
Select the glasses as the camera
On the home screen, tap the camera menu in the top-left corner. Select Meta glasses. The preview changes to the glasses video.
Go live to Twitch or another platform
Tap Go Live. Enter your RTMP URL and stream key. If you are signed in, you can select a saved destination instead.
For Twitch, use the server URL rtmp://ingest.global-contribute.live-video.net/app. Your stream key is in Twitch's Creator Dashboard under Settings, then Stream. Open it in a web browser and copy the primary stream key.
Under Quality, select Balanced (720p), High (1080p), or Custom. With Custom, you set:
- Resolution: 720p or 1080p
- Bitrate: 0.5 to 6 Mbps (default 2.5 Mbps)
Glasses video is vertical, up to 720p. At 1080p, the app scales it up.
Tap Go Live to start the broadcast.
Stream in the background and use Pro or Max features
Your broadcast can continue while your iPhone is locked or the Streamhand app is in the background.
A Pro or Max plan adds multistreaming and disconnect protection. If your connection drops, disconnect protection shows viewers a reconnecting screen.
Troubleshooting
The glasses show "Not connected"
- Make sure the glasses are paired in iPhone Bluetooth settings.
- In the Streamhand app, open Settings and tap Connect glasses.
- If the glasses still do not connect, tap Disconnect glasses, then tap Connect glasses.
The preview shows the front camera
- Tap the camera menu and make sure Meta glasses is selected.
- If the glasses disconnect, the app changes to the front camera. Connect the glasses again, then select Meta glasses.
The broadcast does not start
- Make sure the RTMP URL and stream key are correct.
- Make sure your Wi-Fi or cellular connection has enough upload bandwidth.
Frequently asked questions
Can you live stream with Meta glasses on Twitch or YouTube?
Yes, with the free Streamhand app. You can stream to Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Kick or any platform that accepts RTMP or RTMPS. Meta's own livestreaming works only on Ray-Ban Meta Gen 1, and only to Facebook and Instagram.
Does it work with Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, Oakley Meta or Meta Ray-Ban Display?
Yes. Streamhand works with Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3), Ray-Ban Meta Optics, Meta Ray-Ban Display, Oakley Meta HSTN, Oakley Meta Vanguard and the Meta Glasses line.
Can I stream from Meta glasses with an Android phone?
Not yet. Streamhand runs on iPhone only, and there's no Android or iPad version.
Do I need a computer to stream from smart glasses?
No. You stream from your iPhone with the Streamhand app.
Can I stream from Meta glasses to multiple platforms at once?
Yes, with Pro ($9.99/month, 3 platforms at once) or Max ($29.99/month, 6).
Do I need a paid plan to stream from my glasses?
No. Basic streaming is free and has no watermark. Multistreaming and disconnect protection need a Pro or Max plan.
